On Komodo Island, Komodo dragons live and breed well. Until August 2009, on this island there are about 1300 dragons. Coupled with other islands, such as Rinca Island and Gili Motang, their total number reaches around 2500 individuals. There are also around 100 Komodo dragons in the Wae Wuul Nature Reserve on the mainland of Flores Island but not including the Komodo National Park area. Komodo National Park was declared a World Heritage Site and Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1986. Not only Komodo is the main attraction in this National Park, but Komodo National Park also consists of other small islands which are of course separated by sea. The underwater life here is no less beautiful. You can find 385 species of beautiful coral, 70 types of sponges, 10 types of dolphins, 6 types of whales, green turtles, various types of sharks and stingrays. So for snorkeling lovers, this place is a very interesting spot and must be visited.
